Late Sri B.M. Murthy

• Born: 1947 in Hireballa village, Chikkaballapura District
• Education: B.A. from Kolar Government College; M.A. from Mysore University (Manasa Gangothri)
• Early Life: Overcame hardships after losing both parents at a young age, supported by teachers and family
• Career: Agriculturist and pioneer in grape cultivation, expanded farmland to 40 acres
• Entrepreneur: Founded Yamuna Hybrid Seeds Factory (1978–79)
• Educationist: Co-founded Gnana Jyothi School in 1983–84 to bring quality education to rural children
• Community Service: Panchayat Chairman and President of Ashraya Samiti; built hundreds of homes for the poor
• Legacy: Guided by values of service, simplicity, and integrity

B.M. Murthy Talent Exam (BMMTE)

Empowering Rural Talent through Education

• The B.M. Murthy Talent Exam (BMMTE) is an annual scholarship examination instituted in memory of our founder, Late Sri B.M. Murthy, with the vision of supporting and nurturing bright students from rural areas.
• Each year, around 800 students from various rural schools participate in this competitive exam, which aims to identify and encourage academic excellence among young learners.
• A total of 20 meritorious students — 10 each from Grade 5 and Grade 8 — are awarded the prestigious B.M. Murthy Scholarship, which supports their continued education at Gnana Jyothi School and PU College.
• At present, 60 students are actively benefiting from this scholarship program. Over the years, more than 100 scholarship recipients have successfully pursued higher education in various fields, reflecting the long-term impact of this noble initiative on the lives of deserving rural students.

Charitable Programs: Free education for deserving children, health check-up camps, environmental initiatives, and women empowerment workshops.

Memorial Marathon: Annual marathon organized in memory of B.M. Murthy to promote fitness, awareness, and social causes.

Volunteer / Contribute: Parents, alumni, and well-wishers can support through mentoring, funding, or sponsoring education and infrastructure.

Impact & Legacy

The foundation has become a beacon of hope for hundreds of rural students, ensuring they get access to quality education, opportunities in higher studies, and pathways to successful careers.
